Piazza di Spagna and its Steps, is is one of the most famous squares in Rome, which take the name cause the Embassy of Spain, the Palazzo di Spagna. In the middle of the square, there is the Fontana della Barcaccia, designed by Pietro Bernini and his son, Gian Lorenzo Bernini. Moreover, in a part of Piazza di Spagna, rises the Column of the Immaculate Conception, erected after the proclamation of the Dogma. To enjoy the view of Piazza di Spagna, there are 135 Spanish Steps, connecting it to the Church of Trinità dei Monti. The monumental stairway was designed by architects Francesco de Sanctis and Alessandro Specchi.
